Let’s be honest: trying to find the right GoDaddy email login page can feel like a digital scavenger hunt. You know you have an email address, you know you’re paying for it, but you’re stuck in a loop of password resets and login pages that just don’t look right.
You are not alone. This is, without question, the most common frustration I’ve helped small business owners navigate.
The problem isn’t you. It’s that “GoDaddy Email” isn’t one single thing. It’s a brand name for two completely different email systems sold on the same website.
This guide will end that frustration for good. We will show you, with screenshots, exactly which login page you’re supposed to be using, how to get in, and what to do when it inevitably (and annoyingly) doesn’t work.
What Is the #1 GoDaddy Email Login Problem?
The #1 problem is that you are probably on the wrong login page. GoDaddy offers two separate email products, and their login pages are not interchangeable. Using the wrong one is like trying to open your house with your car key.
Before you go any further, you must know which plan you bought.
1. GoDaddy Professional Email (Webmail)
This is the basic, affordable email plan. It’s a standard webmail (IMAP/POP) service.
- How you know you have it: You bought a plan just called “Professional Email.” When you set it up, you didn’t see anything about “Microsoft” or “Outlook.”
- What’s the Login Page?
email.godaddy.com - The “Secret” Name: You’ll often see
secureserver.netin your settings. This is the actual server name GoDaddy uses for this service.
2. Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy (Outlook)
This is the premium, more expensive, and more powerful option. GoDaddy is reselling Microsoft’s best-in-class Exchange server and Outlook interface.
- How you know you have it: You bought a plan called “Microsoft 365” or “Office 365.”
- What’s the Login Page?
login.microsoftonline.com(oroutlook.office.com) - The “Secret” Name: This is a “Microsoft Exchange” account.
If you try to log in to your Microsoft 365 account on the GoDaddy webmail page, it will fail 100% of the time. And vice-versa.
What About Your GoDaddy.com Customer Account?
This is the third point of confusion. Your GoDaddy.com customer account is only for billing, buying domains, and managing your products.
- Login Page:
godaddy.com - Username: Your customer number or customer username.
- Password: Your customer password.
Your customer login is not your email login. Your email has its own password. You will, however, need to access this customer account to reset your email password, which we’ll cover in detail.
How to Login to GoDaddy Email on the Web (Step-by-Step)
Here are the exact, step-by-step instructions for both email types.
Method 1: The “Professional Email” Webmail Login
Use this method if you have the basic GoDaddy email plan.
- Open your web browser and go to the official GoDaddy webmail login page:
email.godaddy.com - You will see a simple login box.
- Username: Enter your full email address. This is a common mistake. You can’t just enter
your.name; you must enteryour.name@yourdomain.com. - Password: Enter the email password you created when you set up this mailbox. This is not your GoDaddy customer account password.
- Click “Sign In.”
If successful, you’ll be taken to the GoDaddy webmail inbox.
Method 2: The “Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy” Login
Use this method if you are paying for the Microsoft 365 or Office 365 plan.
- Open your web browser and go to the official Microsoft login page:
login.microsoftonline.com(oroutlook.office.com). - You will see the standard Microsoft sign-in page.
- Email Address: Enter your full professional email address (e.g.,
you@yourdomain.com). - Click “Next.”
- Important: Microsoft will recognize that your email is managed by GoDaddy and will likely redirect you to a GoDaddy-branded Microsoft login page. This is normal and expected.
- Password: Enter your Microsoft 365 email password.
- Click “Sign In.”
- You may be prompted for a two-factor authentication (2FA) code if you have it enabled (which you should).
If successful, you will be taken to your Outlook on the Web inbox, which is much more powerful than the basic GoDaddy webmail.
Can’t Log In to GoDaddy Email? (Troubleshooting)
You’re following the steps, and it’s still not working. Let’s fix it. As someone who has untangled this for countless clients, the problem is almost always one of these.
Problem: “Incorrect username or password”
This is the most common error, and it has a few causes.
- You’re on the wrong login page.
- The Fix: You have a Microsoft 365 account, but you’re trying to log in at
email.godaddy.com. Go tologin.microsoftonline.com. Or, vice-versa. Try the other login page.
- The Fix: You have a Microsoft 365 account, but you’re trying to log in at
- You’re using the wrong password.
- The Fix: You are entering your GoDaddy customer password. Your email has its own, separate password. If you don’t remember it, you must reset it.
- You’re not using your full email address.
- The Fix: Make sure you are typing
your.name@yourdomain.com, not justyour.name.
- The Fix: Make sure you are typing
Problem: “My account is locked for security reasons.”
This happens after too many failed login attempts. The system locks you out to protect against hackers.
- The Fix: Stop trying. Seriously, stop. Go make a cup of coffee. The lockout is usually timed, lasting anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. If you keep trying, you’ll just keep resetting the timer. After an hour, try again once with the password you are sure is correct. If it fails, your only option is to reset the password.
Problem: The Login Page Just Reloads (No Error)
You enter your info, click “Sign In,” and the page just flashes and comes right back to the login screen. This is a classic browser cache issue.
- The Fix (Easy): Open an “Incognito” or “Private” window in your browser. Go to the correct login page and try again. This bypasses your browser’s saved data.
- The Fix (Permanent): If the Incognito window works, the solution is to clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
- In Chrome: Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear browsing data.
- In Edge/Firefox: The steps are very similar in the settings menu.
- Clear your cache, restart your browser, and try logging in normally.
How to Reset Your GoDaddy Email Password (The Only Way)
Here is the most important “experience” tip I can give you: You cannot reset your email password from the email login screen.
There is no “Forgot Password?” link on email.godaddy.com. This is a security feature. To prove you own the email account, you must prove you own the domain. This is done from your GoDaddy customer account.
Here is the step-by-step process with screenshots.
- Log in to your GoDaddy.com Customer Account (the one with your customer number, not your email address).
- After you log in, click your name in the top-right corner and select “My Products” from the dropdown menu.
- On your “My Products” page, scroll down until you see the “Email & Office” section. Find the email plan that your account is on (e.g., “Professional Email” or “Microsoft 365”).
- Click the “Manage All” link to go to your Email & Office Dashboard.
- You will now see a list of all the email addresses (users) you’ve created for your domain(s). Find the specific email address you need to reset.
- Click the “Manage” button or the three-dot menu next to that user.
- A new panel or page will open. Look for the “Password” or “Change Password” section.
- Create your new password. It must be a strong password. You will also see an option to “Require this user to change their password on next login.” You can uncheck this if you are the one who will be using it.
- Click “Save” or “Update.”
Wait. It can take 5 to 15 minutes for the password change to sync across all of GoDaddy’s (or Microsoft’s) servers. If you try to log in immediately with the new password and it fails, do not assume it’s wrong. Wait 15 minutes, then try again.
How to Log In to GoDaddy Email on Mobile (iPhone & Android)
Getting your email on your phone is the whole point. The setup is easy, if you know which plan you have.
For Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy (The Easy Way)
This is the easiest setup because Microsoft 365 uses “autodiscover.”
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
- On your Android, go to Settings > Accounts > Add Account (or do it from the Gmail app).
- From the list, tap “Microsoft Exchange” or “Office 365.”
- Enter your full GoDaddy email address (
you@yourdomain.com). - Enter your email password when prompted.
- Your phone will automatically find all the server settings. You’re done.
For GoDaddy Professional Email (The Manual Way)
This plan does not support Exchange. You must add it manually as an “IMAP” account.
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
- On your Android, go to Settings > Accounts > Add Account.
- From the list, tap “Other.”
- Tap “Add Mail Account.”
- Enter your name, your full email address, and your email password.
- Your phone will try to find the settings and will likely fail. This is normal.
- It will then ask you to enter the server settings manually.
- You must select “IMAP” (not POP).
- You will need your incoming (IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server settings.
This part is beyond a simple “login” guide. For a complete, copy-and-paste list of the server names (imap.secureserver.net), ports, and SSL settings, please see our full GoDaddy Email Hub Guide.
How to Make Your GoDaddy Email Login More Secure
Your email is the key to your entire digital life. If a hacker gets in, they can reset the password for your bank, your social media, and everything else. Securing your professional email is not optional.
1. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
This is the single most effective thing you can do. 2FA (also called “multi-factor authentication”) means that even if someone steals your password, they also need a one-time code from your phone to log in.
- For Microsoft 365: 2FA is built-in. You can enable it from your Microsoft 365 security dashboard (
myaccount.microsoft.com). It will prompt you to download an authenticator app. Do it. - For Professional Email: The 2FA is on your GoDaddy Customer Account. This is crucial. By enabling 2FA on your customer account, you prevent anyone from getting in to reset your email password, even if they know your customer login.
2. Use a Strong, Unique Password (And a Password Manager)
Do not reuse your GoDaddy customer password as your email password. Do not use the same password you use for Amazon.
A strong password is over 12 characters and includes uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. The best way to manage this is with a password manager (like 1Password, Bitwarden, or LastPass).
3. Beware of Phishing Scams
You will receive emails that look like they’re from GoDaddy or Microsoft. They will say “Your account is suspended” or “Click here to verify your login.” These are scams designed to steal your password.
- Rule #1: Never click a login link in an email.
- Rule #2: Always type the login address (
godaddy.comorlogin.microsoftonline.com) directly into your browser.
What If You’re Still Using a Free Email for Your Business?
If you’re reading this guide but your business email is still my-cool-biz@gmail.com, you are missing the single biggest benefit of owning a domain.
A professional email address (info@my-cool-biz.com) is not a luxury; it’s a basic requirement for building trust. It’s the difference between a “real business” and a “side hustle.”
If you’re ready to make that jump, we have a complete walkthrough that guides you through the entire process. Read our guide on how to create a professional GoDaddy email address to get started.
Are You Looking for the Workforce Login?
This is a final, common point of confusion. GoDaddy Workforce is a completely separate product for scheduling and payroll, often used by businesses that were acquired by GoDaddy. If you are an employee trying to clock in or check your schedule, you are in the wrong place. You need the Workforce Login.
GoDaddy Email Login: Final FAQs
Q1: What is the GoDaddy webmail login page?
There are two. The main one for “Professional Email” is email.godaddy.com. The one for “Microsoft 365” plans is login.microsoftonline.com.
Q2: Why does my GoDaddy email login say “secureserver.net”?
This is not a scam! secureserver.net is the actual, legitimate server domain that GoDaddy uses for its non-Microsoft email and hosting products. Seeing it in your settings is normal for the “Professional Email” plan.
Q3: How long am I locked out after too many login attempts?
This is usually a 30 to 60-minute “cooldown” period. Do not try to log in during this time. After an hour, you must reset your password through your GoDaddy customer account.
Q4: Can I log in to my GoDaddy email from Gmail?
Yes, but not by logging into gmail.com. You can use the Gmail app (on mobile) or the Gmail website to add your GoDaddy email as an “other” account. On mobile, you’ll use the “Add another account” feature. On the web, you’ll use a feature called “Gmailify” or “Check mail from other accounts” in the settings, which requires your full IMAP/SMTP server details.
